EcoFlow DELTA vs DELTA 2

EcoFlow unveiled their brand new smart power station in the shape of the DELTA 2 at the IFA 2022 in Berlin.

The EcoFlow DELTA was already seen as the crème de la crème of portable power stations, with incredibly rapid charging (0-80% in less than an hour), great 1.2kWh capacity, the ability to power pretty much anything you confront it with, as well as solar charging and the capacity to support up to 11 devices simultaneously.

EcoFlow portable power stations are world renowned and respected and earlier in the year, they won the 2022 Red Dot Design Award for the EcoFlow DELTA Pro, with the brand’s accessories winning the Product Design category. With all this in mind we were beyond excited to find out just what improvements EcoFlow had come up with for the DELTA 2, so we’ve outlined the main differences below.

Perhaps the standout upgrade that EcoFlow have implemented with the DELTA 2 is to make it ‘smart’, with Bluetooth, WLAN, as well as a paired app, which makes a big difference in the convenience stakes, while making the technology more user friendly, especially for app-accustomed younger generations.  You can take advantage of the EcoFlow app to control your DELTA 2 from anywhere using Wi-Fi when possible. When off-grid a Bluetooth link can be used. Whichever connection method you use, you are able to check charging data, customize settings and adjust the charging speed from a distance.

You’d have to have been working very hard to ignore the news not to know that energy costs are rising and portable power stations like the DELTA and DELTA 2, while amazing for camping, fishing and other outdoor pursuits can also provide cheap, reliable power at home. The DELTA 2 promises a longer life and the capacity to power the vast majority of typical household appliances.

“EcoFlow DELTA 2 demonstrates our commitment to refining our existing technologies," Bruce Wang, CEO of EcoFlow is quoted as saying. “A recharging speed seven times faster than the industry average, an up to 3KWh of expandable capacity, and a powerful output mean the DELTA 2 is an essential, modern-day appliance for all families. Whether used at home, outdoors or on the go, the DELTA 2 sets a new benchmark in eco-friendly power solutions."

The capacity of the DELTA 2 can be expanded in two ways. You can add on the EcoFlow DELTA 2 extra battery to reach 2048Wh; or add on the DELTA Max Extra Battery to reach an incredible 3040Wh.

With sustainability at the forefront of the minds of many it will be gratifying to learn that the DELTA 2 is leading the way in terms of lifespan. It takes advantage of the same premium LFP batteries as used in Tesla cars and is therefore able to provide a lifetime of over six times greater than the industry average of 500 cycles, representing a staggering 3000 cycles, which is about ten years useage. Compare this with the original DELTA model, which has a lifespan (already impressive compared to competitors) of around 800 cycles and you have, perhaps the greatest improvement.

Charging

EcoFlow is known for fast charging. And this continues with DELTA 2 as well.

Here is a comparison of DELTA and DELTA 2 charge times.
