Varta have introduced the xEV 'A' range of batteries which replace the previously popular AGM range. There is no change in the batteries construction or technology, it is purely the label and identifier code that has changed.
This particular battery - The Varta A7 replaces the E39 which was previously strongly associated with start stop vehicles. Varta realised that their batteries can be used for much wider purposes such as Electric Vehicles as well as AGM batteries.

Varta Silver Dynamic AGM batteries are known for their very high quality and are particularly suitable for cars with start-stop systems with regenerative braking. I am glad I checked this website because the battery cost was cheaper than anywhere else I could find. The battery was fitted in an Audi Q3 and works great. I did have to take it to a garage to be fitted as I was not aware that these "new" cars require the car\battery to be programmed, but still a lot cheaper than getting it through a garage.

Purchased this to replace 12 yr old BMW own (Varta) battery. It still had 30% charge but some car systems were not functioning. Installed the new like for like and the car systems all kicked in. £228 from Mini dealer … £125 from battery group so very happy.

Start/stop function wasn't working for 6 months and didn't bother diagnosing due to cost but this new battery fixed it so turns out that was a sign of depleted battery all along.
